  • review rating 5  What an inspiring place. This is the future for wild life reserves around the world. We had the most amazing experience with elephants. Basically slept beside and above them. The founder Edwin and his team where so approachable and helpful. Stay the night to really fully experience the place. The restuarant had a sunset that blew my mind. The food is excellent and mainly vegan which suits my tastes and is in keeping with the not for profit organisations ideals. They support the local community and animal welfare. Five plus stars.

  • review rating 5  absolutely fantastic; waking up by the call of the monkeys after a good night rest in a rather luxurious room. By the way: also good food!

  • review rating 5  Run by the equally excellent Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand, this lodge is a must(h) for anyone who truly loves and respects elephants, and wildlife in general. I don't know where to begin to describe the marvellousness of it. The rooms are luxurious, generously sized, with open-air showers in clean, modern bathrooms, and -- essential for so many of us -- 5G wifi. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts (and food in general) excellent. While all that is easily found elsewhere in Thailand and Asia, what makes this place unique is that you are truly a guest of the elephants, camping out in their backyard as it were. Namfon, Sriplueak and Dueanphen stop by repeatedly during the day and night to say hi and to check whether perhaps you have some fruit that needs eating. The whooping of the gibbons and the other jungle sounds all around will cleanse your soul of any urban debris, and the guided tour of the WFFT will alert you to how bad things really are for our world's wildlife. Learn what is done to elephants just so that we can ride on them or exclaim at them "painting" at one of the many other places that cater to elephant "lovers". By staying here, you are helping to counteract this, instead of inadvertently becoming part of the problem. Quite apart from having an absolutely incredible experience as you meet and learn the individual (usually tragic) stories of the elephants, gibbons, sun bears, leaf monkeys, cassowaries and and and. I'm delighted and grateful that staying in such a wonderful place can also mean ensuring a happier ending to these stories.
